Have you picked your favorite fashion city? Don't know what I'm talking about? Check out Lauren's post on Choosing your Favorite Fashion Capital. This Thursday marks the start of New York Fashion Week. New York is all about attitude and you will see the runway full of bold prints, bright colors, and a mixing and matching of styles. Now you may be thinking, how can I incorporate these trends without being 5'11' and a size 4. Or even question, how would I ever afford those pieces? No worries, I am here for you. Here are some of my fav finds from Bloomingdales, these pieces are affordable and great for a multiple of occasions.
Bold colorblocking and criss-cross straps add edgy drama to this wear-with-everything top. This top can be worn with a pair of black pants or jeans. You can wear to a girls night out or a date night. So versatile and unique, a top like this will be sure to turn heads.
You will see a lot of rompers this spring and summer. They are an easy choice and very flattering on many body types. Aqua offers a flirty take on the tribal trend with this summer-ready all-in-one romper, as perfect for brunch dates as it is for boardwalk strolls at sunset.
Paint the town red in Ag Adriano Goldschmied's luscious sateen jeans, where a cigarette shape and fiery hue ignite the night when paired with your favorite heels. This shape helps you appear taller, especially when paired with a pointed-toe heel. Hate heels? try a kitten or ballet flat with a pointed-toe. It will give the same appearance. Change your work attire with a bold pant, you can easily vamp up your wardrobe with a pair like these and still be on trend.
Start adding some "flowy" tops to your wardrobe this spring. The lightweight fabric will keep you cool and the sheer layer will help cover any parts that need some masking. These tops are great for when you feel a little "fluffy" or just plain bloated ; ) Calvin Klein dials up the romance on this fluid blouse with soft shirring and feminine ruffle trim.
My spring favorite is this rosy revved moto jacket from BlankNYC. Most times I just want to be comfortable and throw on a pair of jeans and tee. This jacket pulls the outfit together. I will layer with a long chain necklace and your casual day is set. This jacket is rendered in faux leather, the tough-girl topper injects a playful vibe into layered looks for the season.
These items are great add-ins to your current wardrobe. They also don't hurt our wallets either. I look forward to seeing the runway shows this weekend and be inspired by this year's most talented designers. -Nicole xo
